The front page (home page) is split into forums or topics - click on the title to get to the thread... (you've already done that to get here!!!) here you can read what others have written - click on the title of the post you are interested in - and click on post reply to do just that! You MUST be registered on the site to do this... please keep it clean! You get back to the home page by clicking Home at the top of this page... You can also edit your post once you have submitted it - you'll find the edit button at the top right hand side of your post once it's been posted. (I've just done it to add this bit!)
While you're writing a reply, you'll notice some little smiley faces...

There's also a private messaging function (PM) which allows you to send messages to another user on the forum - these can't be seen by anoyone else, and they are kept in your own 'inbox' just like e-mails. You can PM people by clicking on their name, or by using the membership list up at the top of the screen underneath the Northbrook AC bit... You'll know if you get a reply, it will tell you in the bit under the Northbrook AC too...
If you go into 'Profile' you can add a picture - an avatar - from your computer, you may need to resize it so it will fit, and a signature (the bit that comes up at the bottom when you post). You can add as much or as little information as you like... It's up to you whether or not you use your real name of not... although it can be helpful to know who you are
Polls - anyone can make a poll - and you can do these while writing your post (message) they will come up in your message and then others can vote on them....
