Post London Marathon Social

Hello :D

Something else to come out from a chat in the bar after training :D

Seems like there's lots of Northbrookers running or planning on going down to London for the marathon.... so thought this would be a good place to sort out meeting up after the race etc etc...

I know there's meant to be a pub where northbrook folks meet after the run - but nobody could remember the name of it last night....

Ideas or name of pub please????

(beat you to it Cath  )
remember... you are NOT a salmon.

we've always met up at the Sherlock Holmes (think thats what its called) as its very near the finish line and is easy to hobble to. You get loads of runners there so its a good place to compare notes etc. (I can show you on the map when I'm down the club next week if you want)

just had another thought (must stop this its wearing me out..) We should have a post marathon get-to-gether of some sorts after all the marathons as there are so many of us doing Madrid, Rotterdam, London, Paris etc. It would be lovely to raise a glass or two to celebrate etc. Anyone got any ideas?????

Yes, the Sherlock Holmes it is. It's on Northumberland Avenue, just a short stagger away from Horse Guards parade. I am looking forward to a glass of champers at the end (if they sell it!)

I've been a supporter for so many years now, I am soooo looking forward to seeing everryone at the pub when I have actually finished. That's what's motivating me now...............

Please don't go home before I get there.

By tradition usually stagger the short drag towards St James and the friendly clutches of the Red Lion http://www.timeout.com/london/bars/reviews/11532.html although always open to new experiences...

I've got a place in London through the Mercia MS therapy centre and they have a post race massage / shower facility at The Economist building about 2 streets away. I will see if I can come down to meet you lot after getting changed but I suspect my wife and 3 yr old daughter will not take kindly to going to a pub for post race replenishment!!!!!
I'll see what I can do but I suspect the Hodge family will be off to the Natural History museum or similar to keep the youngest family member entertained

Good luck to everyone else doing it :D

Don't worry about bringing children along. The Sherlock Holmes has a huge courtyard at the front, and there is plenty of space. They don't need to go anywhere near the pub, as no-one seems to care on London marathon day. Some of my supporters have young children too.
