Hi,
I am really keen to join your club and have been down to the club at the jag a few times on a weds night but keep missing you all.
I'm a 28year old female who enjoys running but can't get motivated on my own - i'm a bit of competitor.
I completed a half marathon in 2005 and at one point I was running 6-9 miles three times a week but I haven't been that good for a while. I try to get out now for 3milers twice a week but have lost my motivation.
What is the best way of coming down and getting involved?

Thanks

Jo

Hi Jo,

I'm sorry to hear that you've been struggling to find us, but really glad that you're persevering. :D

The women meet in the nice, warm sports centre changing rooms :) (porch entrance opposite the 5-a-side pitch, don't know where in the building the women's changing room is, sorry) from about 7.10-7.15, then around 7.20-7.25 drift up to the slightly less nice, colder changing room :( where the men get ready (I think it says 'Visiting Team' on the door, but I could be wrong - it's just automatic for me these days) for club announcements before starting running around 7.30. Between our keep changing rooms and there being at least five minutes 'plus or minus' in each step of the process you're right, anyone would think we were hiding!

My suggestion would be to turn up around 7.15 and meet up with the women while they're still being chatty in the warmth of the sports centre changing room! That said, Alix, who set up these forums, is our current women's captain and I'm sure she'll either reply on this thread or PM you with a better plan whenever she next checks the board.

Hope this helps, and maybe see you tomorrow,

Nathan.

Hi Jo,

Will keep an eye out for you tonight - Nathan's right, the best plan is trying to find us while we're in the warm! :D

Hopefully see you later..... have sent you a message as well!

alix.
remember... you are NOT a salmon.
