Hill reps (400m)

Hill reps (400m)

I know that group 1 do some of their hill reps over at Harvest Hill during the summer but last night I had 10 x 400m hill reps on the plan  and didn't fancy running back home through the lanes at night so wondered where else I could go.
My coach said a hill not too steep so I remembered the lane that goes up the left hand side side of Harpenden Avenue next to the A45. It's part of the Godiva HM once you cross under the A45 having come out of Allesley Park and then turn left to go up to Eastern Green.
Starting at the bottom (coincidentally there's a nice line where the kerb ends) and go up past the stables on the left, the lane bends to the right and the 400m marker is by a fairly large tree on the left not long after that right bend.
It's great as there's street lights most of the way up, no cars, very few pedestrians so it's perfect.

Apologies if you already know about it/use it,etc but I thought I'd share it with you :D

btw hill reps suck the big one and my coach is not going to be getting a Christmas card this year

Yep, that's Park Hill Drive, and it's our standard winter hill!

Group 2 did reps on Buckingham Rise the other week, but it's a bit on the steep side and I don't like the fact that the pavement's not wide enough to avoid running on the road, which can be quite busy.

Grayswood Avenue is another option...
