Northbrook AC

Is anyone interested in running the Amsterdam Marathon this year? It will be held on Sunday, 18 October 2009.

Tony Mackness and I ran it last year - see our race reports in the October 2009 results section of the Northbrook website. It really is a first rate event with a fast, flat course which starts and finishes in the Olympic Stadium. And Amsterdam is a great place to visit!

For those that don't wish to run the 26.2 miles there is a half marathon in the afternoon. In fact, the half is more popular that the full marathon with about 8,000 participants.

Travelling to Amsterdam is easy and I would envisage flying out on the Saturday morning before the race and returning on the Monday evening. Flights from Birmingham International with BMI Baby are still relatively inexpensive at the moment.
